CODE OF ETHICS

  1. Treat all subjects with equal care and respect. Realize that I am likely adding stress or discomfort to their life.

  2. When appropriate, engage in conversation outside of an interview, both to understand the subject as a complex human being and to make my work as transparent as possible.

  3. Frequently step out of my comfort zone. This will help my coverage stay diverse.

  4. Document situations as they exist. Resist the urge to immediately massage a tense Interaction unless CLearly unsafe.

  5. Limit editing to minimal, photo-wide changes. Spot editing or masking sacrifices the integrity of the photo as shot.

  6. Admit fault completely and honestly.

  7. Make sure this list is subject to change.
